Flow measurement is generally employed to measure consumption of fuel-fired engines via measuring fuel distribution to engine-fed day tanks. However, the source of consumption cannot be isolated to the engine only. Fuels such as diesel is poorly handled and pilfered in large amounts due to its high price. Fuels like LSHS, LDO, HFO are also expensive on a litre to litre basis. So, how do you solve the above problems and know the true consumption of your generator, ship engine, propulsion engine or mobile compressor? It turns out that we have solved this problem by manufacturing the most reliable instrument in measurement of engine consumption – the Differential Fuel Meters which work for any engine in the 7 HP to 3000 HP range. The meters feature independent consumption of suction and return line and are installed in series with the engine to provide instantaneous consumption patterns and data.
